It is the official position of CA's legal and licensing staff that no CA product may be transferred after a box has been opened, despite specific language in their license agreements which clearly permits it. Unfortunately, they are big and we are small, and they insist they will take legal action.
Because we don't do enough business in their material to justify the legal costs ($5-$20K) necessary to have our attorney get a US federal court to explain to CA what their license agreements mean, we will not sell any CA materials except those in sealed retail boxes. If you feel strongly enough about it, you might try explaining your situation to CA and asking for a waiver, especially if you are already a licensed user of the material you are trying to buy. Before you email asking, we honestly don't know of any other source for this material. Any attorney who is annoyed enough by CA's behavior to be willing to defend us against this abusive behemoth for $1000 or less should call us.
