EMS Professional Software Ordering

EMS only sells to computer professionals who understand the complexities of software licensing. Consumers should purchase directly from the copyright owners, who are equipped to offer detailed explanations on licensing.

Licensing:
Software license transfer is impossible for us to guarantee unless the product is a full retail package with box and manuals, new, and in original shrinkwrap. We only sell "Academic" "scholar" and "Academic Priced" packages to qualified buyers, usually students who present a photocopy of a current student ID or purchase order on school letterhead. In any case, any licensing you require should be arranged between you and the software publisher. EMS does not sell licenses for any specific use, just original materials. By ordering, you agree to abide by terms of the licenses for any materials purchased from EMS.

Types of Payment Accepted:
EMS accepts VISA/MC/AmEx and Novus/Discover credit cards. We also accept PayPal, US$ checks drawn on US Banks, and money orders. For bank wire transfers, add an extra $20 for bank fees. Email us for bank account details. Checks may be sent to:

Shipping Options:
Shipping is exclusively by insured UPS, except that we will ship products weighing four pounds or less via Airmail Letter-post to any country, at your risk, with no insurance or tracking. Regardless of the type of shipping you request, it can take 1-2 days for us to fill an order. Shipping charges can be calculated online. UPS transit times in the US (in business days). If your need is very urgent, we may be able to deliver packages to the local UPS facility in the late afternoon/early evening for an additional $20 courier fee.

Placing your Order:
Orders may be placed by email to info@emsps.com (which is answered multiple times every day). Our sales staff can't answer ANY inventory or technical questions (see our inventory - updated nightly, and version notes), but will be happy to take credit card numbers by voice phone at +1-240-683-5949. Because of our credit card contract requirements, we can only ship to the credit card billing address for any credit card purchase. Call the toll-free number on the back of your card to arrange additional, alternate billing addresses. If the banks in your country refuse to verify credit card billing addresses, we may be unable to accept your credit card unless you are a previous customer of ours. Credit card orders must also be confirmed by email--just send what you want and your address by email. If you want to give your credit card details by phone, just telephone with your name and credit card number. In any correspondence, you must tell us what you want exactly as it appears in our inventory, with the quoted cost.

Pro-Forma Invoice:
If you require a pro-forma invoice, download this MS-Word pro-forma invoice template file, update it with your information, and return it to us by email.

Media Conversion:
We will be happy to make a single backup copy of 5.25" media onto 3.5" HD diskettes for an additional $3 per diskette, or make a CD-ROM with ZIPed copies of diskettes for $5 total, no matter how many diskettes are placed on the CD. Media conversion will often cause an additional one to two day delay in shipping beyond the normal 1-2 days needed to process an order.

Sales Questions:
Please don't telephone to ask our sales staff any technical, licensing, or features questions - they won't know the answer. You'll just frustrate them and yourself. If email won't work for you, and you must have a technical conversation by telephone, your only chance of reaching our technical consultant, Eric Engelmann, is to call evenings and weekends, and sometimes on Fridays.

Return Policy:
Returns of products must be made within 30 days, must include a copy of our invoice, and are subject to a 25% restocking fee, with a minimum fee of $50. A 50% restocking fee, with $50 minimum, is charged on items which are new, sealed or in shrink-wrap. Please note that we only guarantee that media is readable, but not that any software will install or work on your specific hardware, OS, or other software. While no returns are allowed after 30 days, we will generally buy your old software, including those we've sold to you, any time, but at prices determined by market demand. No refunds will be made for shipping costs, file transfers, media conversion, or for PhotoCD purchases.
